Messerly Announces Campaign for State Representative
(Soda Springs, ID) - Joseph G. Messerly of Soda Springs announced yesterday that he will be running for state Representative in the 35th District seat A, which covers Caribou, Bear Lake, and Teton counties as well as part of Bannock and Bonneville. Messerly grew up in Soda Springs and currently resides there with his wife. They are owners of “Messer” Lee’s BBQ.
“I am proud and excited to announce my candidacy for the democratic nomination for State Representative”, said Messerly. “I was born in West Virginia, but Idaho is where I was raised and where I call home. I look forward to raising my children here in the future. I want to be a part of solutions and forward thinking, as we continue to build and grow the state.”
After careful consideration Messerly stated, “Due to some recent events in the state and bills that were passed in the last legislative session, I knew it was time to stand up and speak out.” Never being one to stand on the sidelines, Messerly’s drive and passion has always been an important part of his life. “I believe in setting goals and working hard to achieve those goals are the foundation that our great state was founded on. But, for me, recent events have raised concerns for the future of the Gem State.”
“We need to protect the things we love about Idaho. We need a system where every Idahoan feels seen, heard and valued,” he stated.
“We have allowed such extremism and rhetoric to weaken our state. We need people who want to unite, not divide. My goal is to work hard, represent all the people not just those who agree with me and lead us into a more hopeful and positive future. I look forward to this next year and the many opportunities it will bring.”
